Show Notes

Were billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman the victims of a vast criminal big pharma conspiracy?  This week on Solvable Mysteries we tackle a disturbing and unsolved case out of Toronto, Canada, where well-known Canadian businessman Barry Sherman and founder of Apotex (a Canadian pharmaceutical company), and his wife, Honey, were found hung by belts next to their indoor pool in their mansion in Toronto, Ontario.  At first police thought their deaths were a murder-suicide, but after a longer investigation, urged on by their children, police eventually concluded it was a double-homicide, staged to look like a homicide.  Given the controversial nature of Barry's business dealings, and the harsh business climate and long history of litigation, he had made many enemies, and now police and investigators fear that one or more of those enemies may have planned and carried out Barry Sherman's murder

On the show today, Juras and Glenn review the many strange and controversial aspects of this case, including reviewing the floor plans for the house, and the very strange art in one room that seems posed just like how Barry and Honey's bodies were found.  We recap Barry's fascinating rise to billionaire status, giving a deep look into what made him tick, and how he became a billionaire, as well as the controversies that followed him.  Finally, we state our opinions on what the disturbing likely scenarios were that led to the deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman.
